The elegant Mennica Legacy Tower is a complex of two buildings - the 140 m high tower and the 43 m high West Building. It represents one of the key buildings of the investors Golub Gethaus and Mennica Polska S.A. The architectural design is by Chicago-based Goettsch Partners and local studio Epstein.
The project includes approximately 80,000 m² of Class A office space, a conference centre, fitness centre and ground floor retail space, as well as four levels of underground parking and ancillary services. The fifth floor of the main tower and the eighth floor of the west building feature landscaped outdoor terraces that offer users not only quiet space, but also unparalleled views of the entire city of Warsaw. The architecture is dominated by glass, marble cladding and travertine.
The entrance to the building features a three-storey hall with Planibel Clearvision glazing with low reflection, which minimises glare and connects the interior and exterior into a single unit.
The dominant feature of the city
The main tower impresses with its rounded glass facade that dominates the northeast and southwest sides of the building. The south-east corner, designed in three-storey steps, creates a dynamic and unmissable profile that turns into a shining point visible from the whole city at night. The stepped layout of the two buildings was chosen not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to maximize the flow of daylight into the surrounding residential buildings.
About the façade
The high-performance façade of the complex is glazed with 40,000 m² of AGC’s Energy 65/42S and Energy 72/38T solar control glass assembled into triple glazing.
The interior of the lobby is decorated with polished marble and the walls of the elevator shafts are clad in travertine, which creates a user-friendly space in contrast to the velvety surface of the acid-etched Matelux glass used and the silvery matt back-painted Matelac Silver glass on the walls.
The project boasts the highest BREEAM Outstanding and LEED Platinum certifications, confirming its environmental friendliness. In fact, the building complex meets the most stringent European and American standards.
