AGC Glass Europe supplied Luxclear corrosion-resistant glass for the shower walls at the new Dune Hotel in Nieuwpoort, Belgium.

Featuring an invisible corrosion-resistant coating, Luxclear is the ideal solution for shower walls and doors. The coating can also be effectively deployed in outdoor applications, such as balustrades and conservatories.

But that was not the only glass AGC provided for the project. For the new building’s facades, architect Bernard Vauterin of VT & Partners specified AGC Energy 72/38 solar control glass, a product specially designed to keep out solar heat during the summer, resulting in a significant reduction in cooling costs.

Corrosion-resistant Luxclear is available in regular float glass, extra clear glass and glass with a slightly bluish tint. The durable protection provided by the coating renders the glass surface immune to corrosion, preventing it from becoming cloudy or stained, as so often happens after prolonged exposure to moisture.

Limescale and soap residue cannot build up on the glass, making it much easier to clean and maintain. And since corrosion and surface deterioration are minimised, the glass retains its original appearance. Cleaning is a snap – just rinse with clear water – and maintenance is quick and environmentally friendly, resulting in big savings for the hotel.
