Consisting of 165,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, 101 Embankment is the first in a twophased development offering inspirational and flexible office space with largely column free 17,500 sq ft floor plates, and 360 degree natural light providing uninterrupted views across the Irwell river and the city Centre of Manchester.

Around 8000 m2 of AGC Stopray Vision-50 solar control coated glass was used throughout the fully glazed facade with Stopray Vision-50T specified for the curved corners. AGC glass was chosen due to its neutral appearance and because the same visual appearance and technical performance could be achieved for the flat glazing as well as the curved glass which looks spectacular, blending seamlessly with the flat glass.

AGC Stopray Vision-50 is ideally suited to fully glazed facades. Combining a light transmission of 50% and very good solar protection, this neutral looking solar control glass blocks out up to 72% of solar gain whilst offering a low U value of 1.0 W/m2.K to support the wellbeing and thermal comfort of the building occupants.

Also boasting a very neutral appearance, Vision-50T is a high performance coating that is suitable for processing treatments such as the toughening and curving of glass.

101 Embankment has achieved a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating, as well as a highly efficient thermal performance which improves on current Part L requirements. It also received Commercial Development of the Year in the annual Insider North West Property Awards 2017. Sainsbury's has opened a 2,850 sq ft convenience store on the ground floor and Swinton Insurance has signed a lease agreement for all 165,000 sq ft of office space.

The scheme is a joint venture between Ask Real Estate, Carillion plc and Tristan Capital Partners, in partnership with Salford City Council and Network Rail. Architects for the project are Flanagan Lawrence.
